How to Measure Your Dog for a Bandana: Complete Sizing Guide
Getting the right fit starts with measuring your dog’s neck where the bandana will sit. Use a soft tape measure and keep it comfortably snug rather than tight. You should be able to fit two fingers between the tape and your dog’s neck.
Choose the correct guide for the style
Hughies bandanas come in three different fits, so each style has its own measurements. Use our Bandana Size Guide for the full Snap-on, Tie-on and Over-collar tables.

Over-collar dog bandanas
For an over-collar bandana, measure your dog’s collar as well as the neck. The collar must pass comfortably through the stitched channel. The guide uses collar length, bandana width, maximum collar width and point length rather than a simple neck-fit range.

If your dog is between sizes
Choose the option that gives a comfortable fit without being tight. Tie-on styles give the most adjustment. If you are unsure, contact Hughies with your dog’s neck measurement and we can help.
